Vennersys selected to supply Visitor Management System to Hurst Castle
June 22, 2021
Vennersys have been chosen by Hurst Castle to supply their Visitor Management System. This artillery fort was established by Henry VIII on the Hurst Spit in Hampshire, England. It formed part of the king’s Device Forts coastal protection programme against invasion from France and the Holy Roman Empire and defended the western entrance to the Solent waterway.
A visit to Hurst Castle is one of the best days out in the New Forest with plenty of open space for children to explore and fantastic views of the Isle of Wight. The Tudor fort at its heart still looks much as it did in the 16th century. It is one of the best preserved of Henry VIII’s castles and one of very few of them to have been successively updated and strengthened, allowing it to retain an active military role in the 20th century. Hurst Castle is managed on behalf of English Heritage by Hurst Marine, a local family business that has been associated with the castle for more than three generations.
Why VenposCloud?
Hurst Castle were planning to reopen safely so having the ability to pre book tickets online was paramount for their customers. The Castle wanted a system where they could monitor the flow of people coming in and stagger customers around the venue. With VenposCloud, Hurst Castle can monitor how many customers are in the venue and ensure that social distancing is being maintained. The castle can assess which periods are busy and which are quiet so they can stagger customers accordingly.
VenposCloud supports a range of tickets and transactions. Our powerful EPoS systems can process admissions, English Heritage Members, retail and catering transactions and group bookings quickly. This leads to reduced waiting times and queues for visitors and allows all the venues to operate efficiently. The Stock Management module allows you to easily manage retail and catering stock, create purchase orders, add deliveries, and manage your suppliers.
Nick Symeou, Business Development Manager, comments; “We are delighted to have Hurst Castle as a new customer. Our solution allows customers to easily pre-book admission tickets and the castle has the capability to assess in real time if social distancing is being maintained. Our solution will also provide them with valuable data insights which can improve the business and visitor experience. We believe our solution will improve efficiency in daily operations and increase revenue for the castle.”
